The vibration damping ability of a laminated elastic-viscoelastic-elastic layered simply-supported beam is analytically investigated. The criteria for damping ability of this beam, at resonance, is determined for displacement, velocity, acceleration, and stress. Curves are obtained relating the variation of the four criteria for varying ratios of elastic layer thicknesses and other geometrical and physical properties of the laminated beam.
