This book is intended as a textbook for undergraduate and graduate students in Mechanical Engineering. It presents bond-graph approaches to modeling of mechanical systems with or without electrical and thermodynamic connections. Fluidic systems are also modeled similarly. Linear and nonlinear systems are treated, and solution and simulation techniques are presented via MATLAB based implementation and instruction. Although the book is published under Marcel-Dekker’s Control Engineering Series (Neil Munro, Editor), it has only a single 73-page chapter on “Introduction to Automatic Control,” which presents classical control concepts in designing dynamic compensators. The root-locus, Bode, Nyquist, and Nichols graphical procedures are covered with the...
