The International Symposium on Ballistics is an opportunity for ballistics scientists, engineers, and others to report, share, and discuss current research and advances in ballistics and visions of the future. This symposium allows exposure to the most current state-of-the-art technology in ballistics, provides opportunities for interaction with some of the world’s leading experts in the field of ballistics technology, and offers the chance to present, exhibit, and share scientific research and development with an international group of professionals.
27th International Symposium on Ballistics
will occur on 22–26 Apr. 2013 in Freiburg (Breisgau), Germany. It will be organized by the Fraunhofer Institute for High-Speed Dynamics, Ernst-Mach-Institut (EMI, www.emi.fraunhofer.de), in collaboration with the International Ballistics Society. International Ballistics Society
The International Ballistics Society (IBS, www.ballistics.org) was constituted during the 25th International Symposium on Ballistics at Beijing, China, and is concerned with promoting the science of ballistics internationally in the broadest sense. Its objectives are:
to provide at the highest level a means of technical interchange and experience in this field by ensuring that an International Symposium on Ballistics (ISB) takes place regularly and that the organization thereof is of a high standard.
to organize and conduct additional activities with a view to the development and advancement of the field of ballistics.
to enhance professional opportunities by providing short courses, opportunities for peer reviewed publications, and additional activities to promote career development of its members.
The International Ballistics Society is a natural development, preceded by the International Ballistics Committee (IBC), founded in 1993. Currently (Mar. 2011), the Society has 522 members from 34 countries. Any person working within or having a special interest in any branch of ballistics will be most welcome to apply for membership!
